COMMITMENT- PART 2

Hello wonderful beings,

Today I met a beautiful client whom I had not seen in a while. I was in Starbucks and I heard a familiar voice calling out to her son!

The first thing she said after we hugged was that she has been following my blog and how much it has helped her and that she has shared the blog with her friends. It came as a surprise to me and because I write my blogs wanting to help and have not been attached to any results, this just made my heart swell and I want to send a shout out and say Thank you!

I wrote on Monday about commitment and today I will follow up by enhancing ways to stay focused and committed to your goals.

The beginning is always easier and exciting than the rest of the journey, we all know that!

Think about it..what have you started that you were really excited about and then the enthusiasm waned because perhaps the novelty wore off and you were no longer thrilled by the same experience.

“Let no feeling of discouragement prey upon you, and in the end you are sure to succeed.” Abraham Lincoln

So a few steps to help you in achieving your goals

1. Think of the completion of your project several times during the day and invoke feelings of encouragement and excitement!
“Screw it, Let’s do it!” Richard Branson

2. The way I stay consistent is by having affirmations placed strategically so I am constantly drawn to my dreams. I am also repeating the mantra several times during the day to keep me focused and clear towards my goal.

3. Make a list of why you want to reach that goal. The more whys you have in the list the more juice you have for the completion of the project!
“The more you loose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have.” Norman Vincent Peale

4. Choose between fear and courage. Courage will pull you forward while fear will push you down.

5. The best way to fulfill a big commitment is by accomplishing mini-commitments.
So today I want you to make a commitment to make mini-commitments. Put it down in your calendar!

100 DAYS OF BLOGGING-THE PROMISE....

Greetings lovely beings,

I have to share something with you today! I committed to writing a blog a day for 100 days, some 100 days ago and guess what? Today is the last day...yipeeeee...I was able to fulfill my commitment, come hail or high water, and believe both were readily available!

                         rest

If you have been following my blogs, then you will remember how during Day 30 onwards for a whole 5 days or more, my computer crashed and then my laptop crashed, this has never happened to me before where both my working tools have crashed. I had to reschedule all my Skype appointments with my clients, reply emails through my BlackBerry but, write a blog?

I found myself writing with my IPOD and my Blackberry.  If I had not made that commitment, that promise to me and my readers….If it was an indifferent, loose proposal then the writing would not have mattered.
“You need to make a commitment, and once you make it, then life will give you some answers.”  Les Brown

“It is only when you despair of all ordinary means, it is only when you convince it that it must help you or your perish, that the seed of life in you bestirs itself to provide a new resource.”  Robert Collier

Commitment for me is something that your heart wants you to do and your head needs to follow through without any compromises.

                              Commitment

I invite you to make a commitment today and I will keep following through with you with my blogs every Thursday and Mondays.

Please e-mail to this email address right now subscribe@alivewithadwiti.com so you can still get updates, tips and encouraging, positive messages from me. As you know there is no dearth of negatives in the world…send your email address with subscribe as your heading and prepare to be happy, encouraged, optimistic and confident. YES!

A lot of times when a commitment is made public then you are more liable to persist and succeed! So go tell your friends, relatives, and a close buddy what you are planning to do the next 21 days or 100 days and email me.....make that change now, for it is within you!

                             free at last

“Once a man has made a commitment to a way of life, he puts the greatest strength in the world behind him. It's something we call heart power. Once a man has made this commitment, nothing will stop him short of success.”
Vincent "Vince" Lombardi (1913-1970)

I am 100% behind you for the commitment you have made! Next newsletter will be about how to keep your commitment!

MOOD BOOSTERS...

UPLIFTING YOUR MOOD..

Oh yes, those pesky moods that creep out of nowhere..one day you are like sunshine flying high and the next day , all you want to do is the basics and crawl in bed and watch some crappy TV.

I know..I know..blame it on the hormones, life, weather , whatever it is..hey we all go through it!
The days when I feel like that I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make myself feel better, not in a fake- Stepford wives sort of way but really from the inside , from your heart.
You just have to be open and take the steps…if you don’t intend to feel better then it is your choice.

1.     Call an old friend and laugh like crazy about something stupid you guys did together, sure to lighten your mood.Darjeeling, my home town is known for humorous people, I am so lucky to have a lot of them as friends in Facebook ( Thank you Facebook!). It is almost instant..and the humor is so real that the little moody problems seem to be trivial compared to what people have to go through . Brings everything into perspective!

                                                       Oh, these photographers!

2.     A good yoga class with a friend or by yourself will definitely send those endorphins surging through your veins. Besides lifting your mood, yoga reduces stress, increases your flexibility. “You are only as young as your spine” ! So, you also have a good chance of preserving your youth! hah!

                                        Yoga

3.     Exercise – I always look forward to my exercise….it is such a cleansing time for me! Try it! When you are feeling dull and tired and the last thing you want to do is exercise- EXERCISE! Buy some sexy work out gear, choose bright colors and simply enjoy getting your heart rate up , blowing off steam and stimulating various brain chemicals!
4.     Read poetry. This truly boosts my mood. Here is one of my favorite poems of all times:

                                        a host, a crowd...

Daffodils

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

by William Wordsworth

5.     Meditate. Journal your thoughts, there is no better way to release your pain than through words written just for you, nobody needs to see it, let it flow..stream of consciousness writing let words come out like tears into paper . Often you will find the root cause of your pain. Then close your eyes, take deep breaths and let go ..relax..relax….and drop into the silence of your heart , the part deeper than any hurt can touch…then increase the healing energy, the light into all levels of your being.
